The Public Relations and Campaigns Officer of the Trades Union Congress (Ghana), Naa Ayele Sekyere, has urged all workers to study their Collective Agreements (CAs) in order to know their rights at work.
Speaking in an interview on Uniiq FM's Worker's Link on Radio Ghana, a programme aired every Monday between 12:05 and 1 pm to sensitize workers on labour issues, the ace broadcaster urged all workers, as part of their responsibilities, to study their Collective Agreements (CA) as well as the Labor Act ( ACT 651) 2003, to know their rights and responsibilities as workers. She was of the view that most workers do not know the contents of their CAs and provisions in the Labor Act and this tends to affect them negatively. " If you know your rights, the employer can never cheat you" she pointed out.
She assured workers that the TUC (Gh) is fully committed to servicing members. Workers should therefore not hesitate to come to the TUC with issues they are agitated by so they could be helped to get them resolved.
