Doris Deku has urged women to challenge men for the construction job.
Speaking in an interview on the Stand Point hosted by Oheneyere Gifty Anti on Joy Prime, Doris Deku, a tiler, urged wome not to leave the Construction Industry into the hands of men only but challenge them for the job.

Despite the challenges the construction sector poses, she believes women would do better if they engaged themselves in the sector.
She added that she has undergone the tiling training and she's now a boss of her own, employing and paying staff to work for her.
When she decided to engage in the tiling business, many people discouraged her, asking her to rather enter into selling as her counterparts do but she wouldn't allow their words to discourage her from her desire.

Doris attributes her success to YIEDIE for their immense contributions. The Youth Inclusive Entrepreneurial Development Initiative for Employment (YIEDIE) is a five-year project designed to create economic opportunities in
Ghana’s construction sector for economically disadvantaged youth.
It is implemented by Global Communities in partnership with the Mastercard
Foundation. YIEDIE trains young ones of 17-24 years in technical and entrepreneurship skills leading
to employment.
Doris Deku is a single-parent with one child.
