Dr. Mensa Otabil |
Following the directive of the president to suspend all social gatherings including religious and sporting events as well as political rallies, the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) has complied with the directive.
A letter signed by the General Overseer, Dr. Mensa Otabil, and circulated to all assemblies of the church, requests all pastors to follow the president's orders.
The letter, however, asks all members to rather download the ICGC app on playstore and appstore in order to follow church service online. The letter, also, advised Pastors of all local churches to engage their members on all social media platforms as a means of worship. Dr. Otabil urged pastors to not allow this difficult times hinder them from preaching God's word but rather "allow the Holy Spirit to make them a voice of faith and not of fear."
ICGC members are also advised to follow verified directives from the World Health Organisation and the Ghana's Ministry of Health.
Dr. Otabil further advised members "to show more love to another" as well as to "encourage one another, pray for another ,connect with one another, help one another, and share one another." He adds that this is not the first time the church is facing such a dilemma to fellowship publicly but the first church also faced same yet they did not allow any thing hinder them. As such the new Christian Church should also emulate them and never allow anything to hinder them from their faith.
He finnaly concluded saying,: " We are fully confident that the Lord will use this opportunity for the furtherance of the Gospel. For we know that all things work together for good for those who love the Lord."
