The church members were clad in various  ICGC anniversary attires to celebrate the occasion.

Lady Joy Otabil

Message by Dr. Otabil
The General Overseer, Ps. Dr. Mensa Otabil,  delivered an anniversary message which was circulated to all the ICGC  Branches worldwide.

Appreciation
Reading from Psalm 107:1-3, Dr. Otabil expressed appreciation to God for bringing  the  church thus far.  He also expressed his profound gratitude to all the other pastors, leaders and members of the ICGC fraternity.

Anniversary Message
In his message which he quoted from Hebrews 11:4 and titled, 'A more Excellent Sacrifice ', he adviced members to give an excellent sacrifice to the things of God just as Abel gave an excellent sacrifice to God.  He remarked that an excellent sacrifice to God would cause God to favor them, cause them  to have a testimony and have an  impacful life as well.

He explained that: "Sacrifice is giving up something valuable now  in order to gain something more valuable in the future" adding that the only way to move into the future is to make sacrifices.

He reiterated that consistency in sacrifice is what would yield excellent rewards. Christians should not sacrifice in any way apart from an excellent sacrifice and a qualitative sacrifice as well.

Advice to Young Ones
He entreated the young ones to avail themselves for God  to  use them revealing that  he was a youth when he established the ICGC church in his twenties. He added that they are not insignificant but valuable to God hence the need to listen and obey God's voice in order to have a successful future.

Dr. Otabil further stressed on the need for the youth to make sacrifices if they really wanted God to use them. " You must keep your self pure and holy if you want God to use you."He encouraged them to never underestimate the power of God, for God can do more with them if they did avail themselves. They should, however,  speak to God to  clarify anything they couldn't understand.

Final Words
Dr. Otabil encouraged Christians to make a more excellent sacrifice  to God and not to ''play games with God, cheat God,  lie to Him, attend church haphazardly, live haphazardly," and God would  favor them, give them testimony and grant them impact. He subsequently pronounced the blessings of God on them.

Background
The  ICGC church was established on 26th February,  1984 by Dr. Mensa Otabil in a classroom with an initial membership of twenty.  Over the years the church has grown to become one of the renowned churches globally with  members numbering millions.

The 36th anniversary fell on Tuesday, 26th February 2020 but the church decided to celebrate it on Sunday the 1st of March 2020.

DON'T MARRY WOMEN WITH EGO - ICGC Pastor Advices.

The Head Pastor of the ICGC Faith & Miracle Temple, Teshie Camp 2 Assembly, Rev. Samuel Nyarko, has advised men not to marry women with ego. Continuing from a teaching series he began earlier this year on the theme, "How to Make 2020 a Successful Year", Rev. Nyarko, during one of his evening Teaching Services on Tuesday, February 11, 2020, reiterated that, women with ego are trouble causers and would endanger the lives of men who married them.  "If you want to have a peaceful marriage then don't marry a woman with ego. She will drive you earlier into your grave". He added that "People who are egoistic are not ready to change and will always give you problems."  He, therefore, advised men to choose their life partners wisely. Teaching on why people don't grow, Rev. Nyarko established the points that indiscipline, loose life, wrong associations, wrong life partners, pride, arrogance, ignorance, unseriousness about life and its rewarding systems...

Over the past weeks, the world has been hit by a catastrophic disease which was subsequently declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation  (WHO). Yeah, I am referring to the coronavirus disease  (COVID-19) - a tiny yet dangerous virus that has brought great and mighty nations to their knees. Thousands of lives are recorded dead and people everywhere are panicking and wondering when all these would finally be over. When are things going to be normal again they ask. When are our children returning to school and when would the world's economy be stable again? Thousands of workers have lost their jobs globally. Social gatherings including religious organisations have been suspended. But as we are in the Easter week,  I ask of the impact of COVID-19 on its celebration.  Easter Easter celebrations varies from year to year. It is usually celebrated on the first Sunday after the full moon on or after 21st March. This year, Easter Sunday fall...

Coronavirus: Government of Ghana to spend GHS 1 Billion on electricity reliefs

The government will spend a little over GHS 1 billion over the next three months on relief for electricity consumers amid the economic slowdown from the novel coronavirus pandemic.  About 87 percent of the Ghanaian population on 4.8 million metres who have access to the national grid are in line to benefit from these reliefs, according to the Energy Minister, Peter Amewu. The government is fully absorbing electricity bills for lifeline consumers; persons who consume 0 to 50 kilowatt-hours per month. The other categories of consumers will enjoy a 50 percent discount within the same period. Addressing a press conference on Thursday morning, Mr. Amewu gave a breakdown of the reliefs with the Electricity of Ghana (ECG) accounting for most of the beneficiaries. ECG currently oversees one million metres for its lifeline customers, which amounts to 27.4 percent of its customers.  “This means that at the current tariff level, Government is absolving almost an amount of G...

The Secret I Kept In My Marriage

My husband and I have been married for over two decades. We have a son and he's our only son. But he's not my husband's.I know you might be wondering how or you might be calling me names but wait till you hear my story. source: nation.com I met Isaac Buxton at a UNICEF program in Geneva, Switzerland. He was representing his institution and I was also representing mine. He was sitting next to me and he was really charming  and adorable. He was six feet tall, with his immaculate suit and a cute spectacle on.  Before I had come from Ghana to the Switzerland, I had in mind to never leave the same - I wanted to get hooked. I was fed up with the single life. "How can a beautiful, fair and a gorgeous looking lady like me never get a boyfriend left alone a husband. This is surely gonna be my time," I kept saying to myself. I just couldn't wait to see myself hooked up with a foreign diplomat. I was imagining how my children would look ...
