The Head Pastor of the ICGC Faith and Miracle Temple, Teshie Camp 2 Assembly, Rev. Samuel Nyarko, has called on all religious leaders to organise at least a week's fasting and prayers to fight against the deadly corona virus.

Posting on his facebook wall earlier today, the renowned author and influential pastor, called on leaders from the Catholic, Charismatic, as well as the Pentecostal churches and other denominations to come together to fight the disease.

"Prayer and fervent prayers offered in unity by all can defeat this virus,"he concluded, as he posted on his Facebook wall.
Background
Late on Sunday evening H.E. President Akufo-Addo suspended all religious and social gatherings including but not limited to political rallies , festivals and sporting events for the next four weeks. He also suspended all school activities from the basic to the tertiary levels till further notice. This is in line with his government seeking precautionary measures to curb spreading the virus as Ghana has recorded six cases as of the time of filing this report.
Outbreak
In November 2019, China recorded it's first case of corona virus. Consequently killing most of the infected people. Since then, corona virus has been declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO), advising countries to take precautionary measures to tackle the issue.The virus, which is now a pandemic, has infected at least 128,343 people across the world and killed 4,702 with 68,324 people reported to have recovered after contracting the virus.
