The General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Dr. Mensa Otabil, has encouraged everyone to stay strong and not fear for "We will walk through coronavirus. "
Speaking at the Sunday Service in an empty auditorium, the renowned author and influential Pastor who spoke for just a few minutes at the service adviced people not to encourage fear but rather "pray, read the Bible and listen to Gospel songs."
Quoting from the books of Psalm 23 from the verse 1 to 4, Dr. Otabil said we will walk through the impact of the coronavirus but not stay in it. We are not going to be stuck in the disease but we will walk through it just like China has done adding that Italy, Spain, USA, Ghana and the whole world will walk through it and overcome it.
There is therefore no need to encourage fear but believe and trust God to walk us through this period adding that the world has endured since the previous world wars and other unfortunate events and would surely endure this one and come out victorious.
Dr. Otabil added that, the precautionary measures including closure of boundaries, quarantine, hand wash, social distancing, amongst others are all ways that God is using to shield us from the enemy and we from the enemy as well. He,therefore, called on everyone to adhere to the precautionary measures from the Health Ministry.
He further urged all to desist from listening and reading false news that would cause them to fear and to panic adding that fear will rob of us of joy.
Due to the outbreak of Corona virus with the President banning all social gatherings, ICGC and all of its branches fellowship online till the ban is lifted.
