H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, would on Friday, May 1, 2020 join the Labor Unions in the country to mark the International Labor Day on a programme which would be aired on GTV from 9 am to 1 pm.

Releasing a Press Statement on Wednesday, 29th April 2020, the Statement which was signed by the TUC Secretary General, Dr. Anthony Yaw Baah, reads:
"Friday, 1st May, 2020 would be May Day (International Workers Day of Solidarity). As announced earlier, all Regional and National May Day parades have been cancelled in compliance with the restrictions on public gatherings due to the Coronavirus pandemic."
"However, Organised Labor and GBC have arranged to celebrate May Day with a live television programme on GTV to enable the leadership of Organised Labor to reach out to all workers with strong message of solidarity and encouragement in this difficult time of Coronavirus pandemic...."
"The Special Guest of Honour will be H.E. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the President of the Republic of Ghana."
TUC, therefore, "urges all workers to stay at home and join the virtual celebration of the 2020 May Day programme by tuning into GTV between 9 am and 1 pm."
