Coronavirus: Ghanaian Musician Gains International Award Nomination

Ghanaian Gospel Musician, Daniel Agyin, popularly known as Goldmann, has been listed in the final round of artists to compete for prestigious awards in the International Singer- Songwriters Association (ISSA) 2020 Awards.

Goldmann gained nominations in three different categories : Male vocalist of the year, International male rising star of the year and International Promoter of the year.

His song, Nyame be ye (God will do it), earned him the nominations for the ISSA 2020 Awards.

The nominations were announced via the ISSA website on Saturday, May 2, 2020 after a first phase of voting ended on 30th April, 2020.

Speaking to Pex News, Goldmann expressed his delight for the nominations saying:

" I'm really elated to receive this nominations. It feels so good and I thank everyone who voted for me especially my fans, and may God bless you all. I believe I will certainly bring an award home to Ghana after the finals."

Goldmann, who is also the Deputy Director for the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGHA), has also been nominated in three categories of the Gospel Choice Music Awards (GCMA) 2020 scheduled for August 8, 2020.

THE AWARDS SHOW

The 2020 ISSA Awards Show will be held at the Dawsonville Performing Arts Center, 1665 Perimeter Road, Dawsonville, Georgia. Red carpet interviews and photographs will begin at 1:30, and the show is from 3:00pm until 6:00pm on Saturday, August 1st.

Founded by Tamanie Dove, the International Singer Songwriters Association (ISSA) is a prestigious annual awards show that highlights hardwork of musicians.

Being a supportive network of like-minded professionals , ISSA provides constant daily assistance and feedback from knowledgeable and caring worldwide administrators and representatives.

ISSA, also, has a compiled list of radio stations who play the songs of the Musicians for free.

ISSA, however, allows members to join for free enabling the members to be a part of the network that seeks to help music artists.

Coronavirus: Government of Ghana to spend GHS 1 Billion on electricity reliefs

The government will spend a little over GHS 1 billion over the next three months on relief for electricity consumers amid the economic slowdown from the novel coronavirus pandemic. About 87 percent of the Ghanaian population on 4.8 million metres who have access to the national grid are in line to benefit from these reliefs, according to the Energy Minister, Peter Amewu. The government is fully absorbing electricity bills for lifeline consumers; persons who consume 0 to 50 kilowatt-hours per month. The other categories of consumers will enjoy a 50 percent discount within the same period.
