The General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Pastor Mensa Otabil, says governments and scientists have failed the world.
Speaking on the theme:"This is Jesus" on Palm Sunday service in an empty auditorium though broadcasted online and on tv and radio stations nationwide, the renowned and influential Theologian called on everyone to follow Jesus as the only savior of the world for "the government, scientists and even the church has failed us."
"With all our advancements in science and technology we cannot deal with a tiny virus."
"Governments have failed. We thought the government of Russia, China, United States of America, United Kingdom, could save us but they all failed," he said.

He advised everyone not to trust in themselves nor the things of the world but to put their trust in Jesus in order to be saved from this turbulence for "deliverance comes from God alone."
"The world has been crying for a savior and that savior cannot be science, governments, wealth or the church but only Jesus can,"he remarked.
Dr. Otabil revealed that he didn't even "see the coronavirus disease (COVID 19) coming" and he "believes the whole world didn't see it coming either" for if we did, "we would all have prepared for it."
Pointing to Jesus as the only savior of the world, Dr. Otabil added that:" Jesus is Lord, a servant, a Prophet and a Savior as well," adding that "Jesus is the only king who seeks for his servants and the reverse is not entirely true."
Dr. Otabil further reiterated that God is merciful and his mercy is unfathomable and that "people should not equate personal anger with God's anger " for God can forgive any sinner irrespective of their sins.
He, however, called on everyone especially Christians to accept Jesus into their hearts by having a close relatiinship with him and not consider going to church and giving offerings as having Jesus in their hearts. He added that having your pastor at heart is not same as having Jesus at heart.
